भूल जाऊं तुम्हें अब यही मुनासिब है 
पर भुलाना भी चाहूं तो किस तरह भूलूं,
के तुम तो फिर भी हक़ीक़त हो, कोई ख़्वाब नहीं,
यहाँ तो दिल का ये आलम है कि क्या कहूँ कम्बख़्त, 
भुला सका न ये वो सिलसिला जो था ही नहीं 
वो एक ख़याल जो आवाज़ तक गया ही नहीं 
वो एक बात जो मैं कह नहीं सका तुमसे 
वो एक रब्त जो हममे कभी रहा ही नहीं 

मुझे है याद वो सब जो कभी हुआ ही नहीं

Main bhool jaun tumhe ab yahi munasib hai
Par Bhulana bhi chahoon ko kis tarah bhoolun,
ke tum to phir bhi haqeekat ho, koi khwab nahin,
yahan to dil ka ye alam hai kya kahoon kambaqt
bhula saka na ye wo silsila jo tha hi nahin
wo ek khayal jo aawaz tak gaya hi nahin
wo ek baat jo main keh nahi saka tumse
wo ek rabt jo humme kabhi raha hi nahin
mujhe hai yaad wo sab jo kabhi hua hi nahin.

Translation in English

It is suitable that I forget you now,

But even if I want to forget you, how do I actually forget you?

Given that you are real, not a dream,

What do I tell you about the state of my heart?

It could not forget the connection that never was,

That one thought which never culminated into words,

That one thing that I could never tell you,

That one relation which never existed between us,

I remember all of that, what never happened between us...
